1978 Ford CSeries
The Ford C Series was a series of medium duty trucks introduced in for the 1953 model year. Initially, Ford's medium duty line was part of the Ford F-Series, but in 1953, the F-5, F-6, F-7, & F-8 were renamed the C-500, C-600, C-700, and C-800 respectively.

Consequently, a new compact tilt cab vehicle was built in 1964 which employed the Econoline Pickup cab mounted on a C-600-size forward control chassis. The company's intent in making such a model was to have offered it in 550-750 series and to have employed Ford I-6 and FT-series V-8 gas engines and English Ford and small Cummins diesels.

The Ford C-series was very much the Ranger pickup of medium duty commercial vehicles with a 33 year reign from 1957 until being retired in 1990. For longest heavy-duty truck production run, only the 39-year run of the Mack Model R can surpass it.

Ford produced this style of cab-over truck for a long time. The introductory year was 1957, but these trucks soldiered on with very few styling adjustments until freaking 1990! The look is cool with its forward-control design and a seeming factory chop of the roofline. These guys look really good hauling a big trailer down the road.
